Does anyone know why (other than battery in remote cause I replaced it) the program won't hold longer than a few seconds no matter if I stand outside the car and press the Lock Unlock buttons or if I re-program from the HUD. Opening the door with the key is a pain.
Thanks.

Ours did that too. New battery, reprogram, lasts about 5 minutes and then, nothing. Then, after all that, I noticed that while I was washing the car, the locks were cycling back and forth (on their own) so I turned off the passive opening feature and put the FOB in the house. Not sure, but I think the FOB is shot and I plan on replacing both of the ones we have....neither one works. We have only had the car about 6 weeks and the previous owner said that FOB #2 was dropped, and didn't work after that. Sorry, I am of no help to you.
if you live in cold winter areas, the FOB and tire pressure sensors don't work if it's less than 50 degrees outside. I live in NY, and I got tired of it too so i installed a 2way LCD remote/alarm. and I LOVE IT!
mine did that too...the exact same thing....and after some investigating it seems to be a common thing. quality GM for ya. ive yet to replace mine, im wating for that new key fob another forum member is making...
I had a similar problen with one of my fobs. I have a GMPP warranty with 8 months left on it so I took it to one dealer who said it wasn't cover and wanted $250.00!!!!! I said the heck with that (knowing all electrical componets WERE covered) and went to another dealer who proceeded to go get another fob, copied my warranty, programed it and said thank you, see you later!!!! It's the only shop I go to now. Hope you have the warranty. Good Luck!!!
