I just purchased an '02 ZO6 with 29,500 miles and it feels like it is hesitating/sputtering, whenever I'm in gear ONLY when coasting. NOT when accelerating, only when it is IN GEAR with my foot off the gas. Anyone have any experience with this sort of problem? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Sounds normal to me. I'm not a technical person but if you lift off the gas that's what this car does (at least mine does the same '04 Z06) I think it is because of the more high-performance clutch/tranny but that's just a guess. This car doesn't behave the same as my Honda when you "coast" in gear. It is usually not a smooth decelleration if you are just putting around town and lift off the gas.

Do you mean that the exhaust is popping when coasting.. if so that is normal
What gear are you in? This thing is a dragon just waiting to breathe fire. That jerking is from pulling the reigns in on that power. In higher gears you probably don't notice it.
sounds like it may be normal...these cars are different than most others .......higher gears are better for smoother ride...low gears are thrilling.....like a big go cart I always say.....have fun
My '02 "pops" on decellaration from high speed or revs. I have installed a Borla two tip system. It's normal!! If she's bucking, your in too low a gear for the engine revs.DUH!! I learned in a hurry from readers here on the forum also how to eliminate the cags problem also. DRIVE the car like it should be driven.
