Well, I finally decided to do it. I'm getting rid of the 01 vert and buying a Z!!!! I'm looking at three right now, trying to decide on which one. A 2003 Torch Red with miles under 5K, a 2003 Elec. Blue with miles under 10k, and a 04 Mill. Yellow with around 12k. What do y'all think is fair pricing on these cars? Stuck on the colors too, these are my favorite colors on the Z's. Decisions, decisions....
I have been watching 02 Z prices for a year now. They were in the high 30's last year and are in the low 30's now. IMO, I would expect to pay 35'ish for the 03s and 37'ish for the 04. Let your budget be your guide.
I've been real serious the last couple of weeks. The dealers want to get rid of these cars quick because they aren't moving. It is a buyers market. However, they are not going to take a loss on the car. I could have picked up an 02 Blk w/ Blk/Red and 29K miles for 29,900, but it was a little rough. They pulled the car off the truck that was getting ready to drive it to auction. It wasn't the exact Z I was looking for, but would have settled if they took my offer of 28K. 29,9 was the best they would do. The dealer sold it at auction for 30,5.
If you are just starting to look at Zs, take the advice that I have seen on many threads asking for price advice. Do what makes you happy. There are way too many Zs out there to settle for the one you don't want.

I am picking up an 02 EB Z, 11K mi on Saturday. Low 30's
From: Los Angeles, CA.... I know a guy who has a Lambo with Corvette doors
You don't state where your are located, & that can affect prices somewhat if you are buying local. I got my very clean 03 a month ago with 7k mi. for $37k, which was a fair price(from a dealer) around here. I knew it was the right car for me, & you should know when you find the right car for you.
I bought my yellow 03 Z06 with 1,400 miles on it for $34,000 last November.
It was originally on EBay and did not bring what the wholesale dealer was asking, and after the bidding, I called him and made them a offer. I bought the car in Maryland just across the PA line.
The car was spotless with the exception of a lightly scuffed rim on the front.
I got a red 03 Z06 for sell in Colorado.
I would take $35000 for it right now.
I have it on autotrader.com for $39000.
Its in perfect condition with 15K miles.
I bought my yella '03 in September, with 900 (not 9000) miles for $38.9K. Do I wish I'd waited till now and saved $5K? NO WAY! I've had more than $5K worth of adrenalin fun in that period, beginning with our 2000 mile road trip from the NJ dealer to Denver! Like the other posts advise, go with what you want - not just the price. You won't be sorry.
And yet when trying to sell my blk/blk '04 w/5500 miles, basically mint & asking $39k, I had no takers or close offers. The market (i think) is unstable at this time.
I paid $34k for a black '03 with 9600 miles, plus got a second set of wheels, and the dealer shipped it from Chicago to Mass in an enclosed trailer. The car has some nice mods, tinted glass, Vararam, air bridge, shifter etc too. They say that the stuff doesn't add to the value of the car, but it saved me money 'cause I'm not buying the parts. I waited for the winter of this year to buy the car expecting prices to be at a seasonal low, and also expected the C6 to cause the C5 prices to drop also.

Ken at Meissner Chevrolet in Phila has an untitled 2003 Millenium Yellow Z06 (less than 50 miles on the odometer if I remember correctly) for right at $40k. I would have bought it but a dealer 30 miles away had a brand new 04 CE Z06 for just a few thousand more. Saturday was a GOOD day!
Call the dealer or email me and I will forward you the email he sent me when I was looking.
I have an '03 Electron Blue. I think the color is awesome and looks great polished. This color is no longer available. Kelly blue book has the pricing on a private party sale with about 10k miles for a little over $40k. That's for excellent condition. Go for the EB!
Bought my yellow 03 Zo6 as a new leftover in Oct 04 for $38,000 with 27 miles on the odometer from a dealer in Ohio after I found it on the GMBuypower website. Came with 0% financing over 72 months and a full 3/36 warranty from GM. If you search around the country, a leftover non Z16 04 should be pretty affordable and you might be able to get 0% financing too. Even if you have the cash, it's nice to keep it while not paying interest.
