Gorillachipz!

Has anyone ever heard of a gorillachipz ? they are all over ebay and just wanted to know what y'all thought,personally I think they sound like bs ,claim to boost up to 40hp..not..But also is there any performance chip out there that is safe and effective for a C5 ,and wanted to know what anyone has to say about a intake airflow upgrade I purchased a $50 one I think it is called Bamz ? Havent installed yet but is it really worth the bucks...Thanx

You should have done some homework here before spending money on Ebay.

There is no "chip" for the C5. The PCM must be reprogrammed with items like LS1-edit, Diablo Predator, Hypertech etc. Even then, a reprogram is useless without effective mods.

Good cold air intakes include, Vararam, BPP Vortex, Blackwing, Halltech stinger, etc.

so the intake i got is useless? I am now finding out about alot of these things on this forum,hell aint had the car for that long,i get tired of toys quickly,What about a set of corsa exhaust?

Corsa system sounds good but add no H.P....the factory system flows well just not very loud

The air intake you bought might be effective. I just have't heard of it.

The Corsa as well as all catback exhausts are for looks and sound not performance. You will likely only see a 3-5 HP gain. Longtube headers combined with a catback is another story.

So can you tell me if the air intake I purchased is any good? or will it harm anything to put it on? cuz if there will be a problem I wont..Also can you suggest a muffler that will add somehp that is not overbearingly loud,I like some rumble but not enough to make me good crazy..thanx

The brand name of the intake air filter is BOMZ it has 2 cone shaped filters much like a Kand N and just connects to plenum,it is specifically made for this car,so it says..but also requires me to unhook neg. battery cable when done so cars comp. will recognize its installation..is that a good thing? Also I am not that much into gaining alot more hp but I would like a nice sound than stock,Is a corsa really worth it in that aspect,I dont want to get it on there and dislike the sound cuz then I would have to yank it back off,and waste that kind of mulla...Also can u tell me if I purchased C6 wheels for my C5 will everything Jive? thanx you have been a great help

You will need adaptors for your C6 wheels, I would suggest going to a local corvette meet to try to hear some of the exhaust systems, i've had: Stock, Z06, Borla Stingers, B&B PRT's. right now i've got the PRT's i really like them for the fact that there's NO resonance, however i loved the tone of the Stingers.
As long as you don't have LT headers, you really won't see any real performance gain adding mufflers..
