I keep the matching roof on and store the glass one in a soft coated protection wrap because I understand the glass one is susceptible to peeling. I figured why add extra risk by having it sit while in storage mind you I can't see much risk while sitting.

my car sets from November till April in a car capsule inside my garage which is heated to 45 degrees. I put the painted roof on (not locked down) to get it off the bed in the spare bedrom where it rests for the summer and put my glass top in the storage area

I drive mine year round as long as the roads do not have snow/ice/sand/grit/salt/earthquakes/tsumanis/hurricanes/nuclear meltdowns/thermonuclear war... I'm getting carried away aren't I???
I does not sit long I just asked to see which roof would hold up better to zero degree temps.
Thanks
Your question was a good one. Yes it is a concern because I have read on a thread in this forum that the glass top will crack under some conditions of temperature variations . So maybe it would be best if you happen to have two tops to store it with the painted top just as a precaution.
BTW if you store the vette with a top not secured, for preceived stress relief , hang a string down from the latch directly in front of the driver seat to remind you.
