What is the difference in a HUD windshield?
I have 2002 Z06 with HUD. I am still having water leak problems and the dealer is telling me the leaks are because of the windshield not fitting properly. I purchased the car used and do not know if the windshield was ever replaced.
How can I tell if the windshield is a replacement?
And
What is the difference between a HUD type windshield versuses a non-HUD windshield? Is there less glare?

There are different windshields for Z06s, regular C5s and those with HUDS.
The HUD windshields are made to reflect the image from the HUD display.
Z06 windshields are lighter than other C5 windshields.
The other difference is about $500-$600 more in cost for a HUD windshield, too.

There is a coating on the windshield of HUD equipped cars that help with the reflection of the image. Plus, the HUD windshield costs a lot more than a regular one.

I installed HUD in my `98. It has a standard non HUD windshield and looks as good as my Buddies HUD Windshield. We can not find any difference in the quality of the image!
