Default C 4.5

Well I snuck in (literally) to the auto show in Memphis. Neat stuff there at the Convention Center including the new C6.

Well I have to agree with others that the new car looks like it was the design of the car that the C5 REPLACED. I know its stupid.......but true.

C4.5 vs C5

you need to get used to the c6 look...first i thought the same but after a while i began to like it...still like my c5 more...but you know...take the c6 for a rip and you'll really begin to appreciate it...i took one for a test drive a couple of weeks ago...it is a very nice car to drive!!! not that the c5 isn't...c6 is just a better driving car...c6 also gets my vote for the front end over the c5...other then that the c5 looks better!!! overall c5 would have to take the lead just because the difference i would pay from going from my c5-c6 would be a lot more then even supercharging mine...i would rather be driving a supercharged c5 instead of a stock c6...c6 is a better driving machine probably just because it had the extra 50 horses....maybe the c6 will take over when i see the convertable just because the convertable just has this look that i can't get over...c5/c6...but as of now i would rather stick to my c5 and do some performance upgrades instead of getting into a c6!!!

Its not that I don't like the new C6, it is just that it looks like the C5 evolved FROM it.

Just a styling thing for me.

I like the front end and the back end better on the C5, matter of fact the C5 is way way cool looking. The C5 looks like a race car, sleek and low... I dig my C5/2004/Vert.

If the C6 had been out before the C5 I would be driving something else right now. The C5 is the only reason I drive a Vette. None of the other generations have ever compelled me to actually go out and buy one. The C6 is too chopped up and has too many straight lines such as the chopped off rear end and the lines following the side vents. Lets not even discuss the nose. Don't get me wrong, the C6 is still a great car and a great sports car in every aspect, it's just not the C5 in the looks department. I wish I had the C6 drivetrain and technology though. The Z06 C6 is an improvement for sure.

Sorry - but this topic is getting old, with all due respect.

Can't we just move on? The C6 is here whether anyone here likes it or not. It seems to me that the C5 got a luke warm reception when it was first introduced, too. I remember reading and hearing a lot of bitching and whining about the big back end, the car looks like a Firebird on steroids, the car looks like a Mitsubishi, blah, blah, blah.......

Now after a seven year model run - C5 owners are suggesting that this "ugly ducking" is the best looking, greatest design, best ever Corvette - a classic!

Don't get me wrong - I LOVE my C5, and loved the C5 from the first millisecond my eyes caught that profile. MY mouth went dry, my palms started to sweat and my heart just about jumped out of my chest - something about the C5 really struck a chord.

I didn't get that feeling when I saw the C6 - but the most important thing to remember is that it says CORVETTE on it, which automatically gives it validation in my mind. It carries the name on into the new century and it will be fine.....

Downtown Memphis, connected to the Marriott. Near the Pyramid and the Cannon Center. Right on the River
