Just wanted to introduce myself, just purchased an 03 Torch Red Z06 with 4000 miles. Allready have the mod-bug. Cannot wait to start, any suggestions on where to start? Thanks
It will help your responders if you would post what your goal is for your modifications. The car is already pretty fast, so for most people the best value would be driver's school (seat time). However, on this forum owners priorities range from show to go, so you need to tell us what you aim to achieve with your modifications.
Welcome aboard. I hear you about the mod bug. My car's an 04 and due to the warranty I'm limited although I really would like to do headers atleast. I did the zip-tie mod which was an improvement and free of course. I wish I could just leave the car alone.
Welcome to the forum! CAGS defeat is mod #1. A Hurst short-throw shifter is next. After that, it all depends on whether you're show or go. Either way, you'll run out of $$$ before you run out of ideas!

Welcome, & Congrats!
If you would like some ideas, or have some. I would be willing to put together a custom package for you. The more mods the better deal I can give you.
BTW Since this applies as a mod, We have a GP going on for the FRC/Z06 Partitions over in the C5 Parts section.
Get rid of the CAGS - that is a must. Also, if your thinking of a Hurst shifter, I just picked mine up from Summit Racing - only $169. Haven't seen it that cheap anywhere else.
As others have suggested, I would gradually ease into the mods. Attend some cruises, shows, do searches here and on other sites, etc. and see first hand what some of the mods entail, for they can quickly amount to a chunk of $$.
Really try to determine where you want to be, ie., a totally streetable car, strip setup, road course setup, a little of each......endless opportunities
Congrats !!!!!...........you have selected a jet which is missing only the wings. Now you can tell the Mustangs, the *** cars "rice buckets with steroids" you can have them for: breakfast, lunch or dinner.....their choice. Enjoy your new car !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1. CLB is a must, you will regret not doing this simple 50$ mod if your steering column ever locks up on you and you have to tow your car to the dealer.
2. !CAGS is great to avoid the damn 1-4 skip shift.
Both these mods can be done for under 100$ and will provide peace of mind and added enjoyment from your MN6 transmission.
As the rest of the crew said, enjoy the car for what it is bone stock. It's a solid performer bone stock. When you really feel you need more, then you can start getting into it!
For about $80 the CLB will keep you off the back of a flat bed and a chance meeting with Coy and Bubba, and the CAGS by-pass will remove the computer from the shift linkage putting you in total control of the car. The way it was meant to be driven. No computer interference.
After that the sky and your check book balance is the limit.
Welcome to the CF and Z ownership. here’s to many miles of smile’s.
