Yes, I'm still working on this problem of the outer LEDs being a bit dimmer than the inner row of LEDs. Since the outer rows (old amber LEDs) are in series with four LEDs they appear dimmer with white or blue in them. So, what I just did, was replace the four outer LEDs with blue (they will be dim), and replaced the inner row with white (which will be brighter). Have to wait until dark to see what they actually look like.
Doing some other research on making my own circuit boards to allow for three series circuits versus the two series circuits in the existing circuit board.
If your vehicle (be in a ZO6 or a C5) has the auto dimming mirror you should have what CULookin and I have...six LEDs on each side of the mirror (4 amber/2 green) used for MAP lights. If you do not have the auto dimming mirror, you will have bulbs as shown in the beginning of this thread.
Well it's raining today, perfect time to try this, I already have the LED's.
Did you ever figure out how to get that one singe amber one out?
Yes, it is not hard at all. However, you must remove the mirror from the window mount, then split it apart at the front. If you look at the mirror you will see a split about 1/4 inch from the front. This is a snap fit and simple prying will pull it apart. Once it is apart, there is a large circuit board that should have the amber LED soldered to it at the bottom. (The front snaps right back onto the rear of the mirror.)
I have not done this on mine, since I would be worried that a white LED shining down all the time would be distracting (my opinion only). However, I got my hands on six mirrors (identical, except for the MAP lights...not from a Vette) that were made by the same manufacturer and split them apart and did not destroy one mirror. I emailed the photos to England Green and SpdKilz since they are also working on this same problem.
i was courious about that amber led, cant wait till i get the leds in myself, so whos gonna try and get a bunch of the gm bulb housings and put leds in them, a plug and play thing. a little side cash i would say.

If it was me, it would not be with the existing circuit board which consists of one series circuit with two LEDs and one series circuit with four LEDs. I want three series circuits with two LEDs in each circuit.
Ok, here's a thought: I checked the Oznium site, and it looks like the red leds take a lower voltage.. hmm.. I guess I'll have to whip out the voltmeter and check the voltage going to the factory leds.. I really would rather have red ones
