I have a maf i belive is from a tahoe but looks like the stock from a later zo6.Im sure there are differences but how much?Could i put this in place of my old style metal one of should i stick with the older style.Btw,i know the wiring is different if it will work ill make an adaptor . Thanks!
Well, I am not a mechanic, but I believe they both do the same thing, monitor the air flow and tells the cpu what if going on...but I honestly cant say whether there is a big difference or not.
I wasnt sure if the tables were different. If i use it will i need to program the pcm to run correctly?
I really don't know what would happen. For the most part when you swap a MAF you drive the car at highway speeds (dont hammer it) for about 50 miles, park it, disconnect the battery for about 10 minutes and after that the PCM reads normal, but I will be honest, if you haven't swapped out anything else in your intake area, a MAF is not worth the trouble, just buy the MAF housing (MID-AMERICA - $60 bucks) and leave it at that. I think this will be easier than guessing with the alternate MAF. Like I said before I am not a professional, just using past experience with my MAFs (99 Z28 and C5).

Thanks for the advice.I actually have an rm racing twin intake,A machine ported polished maf from a halltech setup i think. What im looking for is a smother idle.It hunts for idle and isnt always smooth so im wanting to replace it just to see.I dont want to harm anything though.
