I want to get different bulbs for my head lights so they are brighter. I have the OEM bulbs in as of now. I want something that is bright but I don't want to spend too much. Any suggestions? Halogen preferred, but will consider buying any kind.
the pic doesnt really do it justice but id recommend hirs
heres a pic comparing hirs silverstars and stock
hirs will cost you 140 plus shipping for all 4 bulbs
There's a new bulb out "HIR" which is being sold on E-Bay and there have been a few threads here on the forum about them. From what I have gotten from all the threads on headlights. The progression of better to best is first Sylvania Silver Stars, these are about $30 a pair. I think. Then the HIR's are about $30 each then your into the much more expensive HID's and kits and transformers and $1000 plus price tags. Which unless I drove the car only at night I might think about. But since it might see the moon twice per year I won't be spending $1000 on headlights. There's my .02 but I am sure others that know much more than I do will clarify things even more.

Thanks! I saw the Sylvania Silver Stars at Discount Auto Parts, but I wasn't sure if they were good or not. I may replace my bulbs with those.
I went with the 9005's and 9006's in mine. got them from Tuan Lee here at the forum. Very bright, no wiring alterations needed and they match my PIAA 1000x foglights.
I installed Sylvania Silverstars a couple of weeks ago, and I can't tell that they're any better than the stock bulbs.
The low beams are a different color ... sort of a sickly bluish green ... but I can't tell any difference at all in the high beams. They're OK, but certainly not any brighter.
I paid about $40 for a low/high pair at WalMart (including tax). I wouldn't spend $80 just to change them out unless the original bulbs are burned out.
