Default Will the backs, fit the fronts....??

I want to go to a bigger rear tire. But since I just bought new wheels and tires, my question is this: Will the 18x9.5 wheels and stock size tires that are on the rear, fit on the front without any rubbing or alignment probs...??

I want to go with the C6 wheel in size 19x10 and whatever the biggest tire without tubbing will fit on the rear. (also have this posted in wheels and tires, but no answer yet).
Thanks for any input....

Don't think so. The 18 inch part is okay. Some guys are running 18's but I think the standard width is too much.

Stock C5 wheels would fit as far as rim height and width. Only thing that may come into play is backspacing.

After seeing the post by Silver6spd, about his Kumho 295's, maybe Ill just go to that instead. Besides, that will give me a good excuse to burn up some rubber on the current 265's....!!!!!

18x9.5 with 275/35/18 fit just fine up front. that's what i use along with many other folks.

Your stock rear tires will be taller than a 295/35 or a 315/30 so don't count on AH being happy with this setup.

I moved my rears to the front and bought wider 18x10.5" for the rear. The stock rear 18x9.5" wheels will work just fine on the front. I ran tis setup for 2 years.

Get a lower profile tire such as 265/35/18 or 275/35/18.

This is good to know.
The tires should not be a problem since I have gone to 285/35/18 up front when I used to have CCW 18x10.5 up front.
I was just worry the rear's offset and the front's offset are different.
Thanks,
-Mike

The rear 9.5's are a 65mm offset, compared to a 58mm front offset of the 8.5" wheel. The net difference is the 9.5 on the front, will stick out only 1/4" more than the 8.5" will. The rest of the 1" additional wheel width (3/4") will be inward of the hub (more backspace).

Compare to a stock Z06 9.5" front wheel, which is 54mm offset and sticks out a lot more, it's not tucked in the fender at all like C5 wheels are, it fits flush with the fender.

In short, from an appearance standpoint, the rear 9.5's on the front stick out only 1/4" more than the stock 8.5 front, which is still about 3/8" less than the stock Z06 9.5's stick out.

So, appearancewise, they're fine.

What about inner clearance?

The stock 8.5 has 7" backspace.
The stock Z06 9.5 front has 7 3/8" backspace
The 9.5 rear has 7 3/4" backspace.

Whether that presents a problem, I don't know for sure. But I've not heard of any clearance problems from people who have done this swap before,so I'd guess theyr'e ok. It likely would only be a potential rub issue at a full turn if anything.

Sorry if this was confusing....but there are the numbers, and how they affect fitment.

Thanks everyone for all the info.... You can always count on CF for all the answers.... From what you all said, I'll buy my C6 19x10's for the rear, and wait till my current tires wear out, then do the front to rear swap and add new rubber....Thanks again..!!

This might be a stupid question but won't the rims on the front and back not match then?

Didn't your original question also ask if you could use the stock sized rear tires on the front?

In this case the answer is no because a 295/35 or a 315/30 would be shorter than a 275/40 This is assuming you have AH.

Just be sure to get a 275/35 for a 295/35 or a 265/35 for a 315/30

Good point. I missed that.

The wheels would work, but I wouldn't use the tires. Too tall. Use a 265/35/18 or 275/35/18.
