Poetry in Motion
Yesterday I had to take my big bass amp and guitar to play somewhere and my wife and her grandson had to come later. Soooo... I had to drive the Buick cause I'm not putting all that in the back of Red Racer.
Since I'm a gentleman and a good hubby, I offered her the keys to the Vette instead of making her drive the old beater Explorer.
Anyway, on the way home, she wanted to drive it home as well. So I had her drive it ahead of me and it was a joy to behold. No matter how much time you spend detailing your car, you can't see it when you're driving it.
Seeing it in motion from behind and from the side was great... It's the first time I'd seen my car from that perspective and it was poetry in motion. Gave me a whole new appreciation of what a beautiful car the Corvette is...
Let someone you trust drive yours ahead of you and you'll see what I'm talking about...
I know how you feel....I've had my wife drop me off on the sidewalk so I can watch her drive up and down the street...just because i never really get to see it from the outside...i also do it so i can hear the exhaust from the outside..

I too forget how beautiful the Vette looks in motion because there's only about 2 others in my region. Sure I see it in my parking lot every day but it doesn't even compare to what it looks like out on the road.
I let my 22yr old son drive the vette to dinner some time back. I drove his Olds Alero behind him so I could see the Vette. I went to put the sun visor down on his Alero and his current traffic ticket fell out.
You should have seen the look on his face when I pulled up next to him at the stop light as I waved his ticket out the window at him.
I've had a chance to follow my wife while she was driving the Vette. I agree, it's truely an awesome sight.
Of course, one time she almost got pancaked by a full size van who didn't see her stop. Talk about feeling helpless watching it happen

No. Wasn't her fault. I did mention how the vette stops much faster than anything else, and it is low, so people might not see it as well.
She basically slammed on the brakes because a car in the right lane sort of half cut over (an illegally parked construction truck was parked in the right lane). The van was in between me and the vette. I saw it, so I lifted off, but the van just kept going (this is the part where your heart sinks, and you wish you had an extra brake pedal). All of a sudden, he must've said "oh f***". He went into the opposite traffic lane to avoid hitting our vette. Fortunately, there was nothing coming the other way.
