Default Please post your average speed.

I am trying to get a feel for how the average speeds vary with different driving habits.

From your DIC, please post your average speed in MPH and total mileage in miles.

I will analyze the results and let everyone know.

One way this could be used is:

When buying a used vette, you could look at the average speed and know whether the previous owner drove many highway miles or more city miles. It may affect your buying decision.

Thanks!,

Adam

Good to know, if I decide to sell my Vette I will just reset my average speed and take it out on the highway so it appears that all my miles are highway.

Average MPH can be reset so your results will be skewed.
Now if anyone uses the average speed to purchase a car then your head is buried deep

I reset my avg. speed before I take any trip of more than a few miles...

Before going down to Walla Walla last week, I reset it and after returning home, my avg. was about 65mph. Now after a week of about town driving and having reset it at my last gas stop, it's about 26 mph, where it is most of the time.

I understand your intent, but it has nothing to do with how a car is treated.

My bad. I didn't know you could reset it, hence my post.

Thanks

cool idea, but just as others have said, the info wouldnt be valid enough. even if you couldnt reset it, it would only show that the majority of miles were highway miles.

My average usually works out to be around 30mph. I had the same average speed in my previous car too (VW GTI). But I agree...just depends what you've done since you've reset it.

If someone had a daily driver and had never reset it, that would be pretty interesting

During the past four months=0 mph. (stored for winter).
Before that=44.57 mph. cruising two lane country roads...and thru small country hamlets.
In my fantasy world=faster than everybody else on the road.

19.1 over 317.3 miles. Probably more like the last 15 miles, but that is what it says.

Mine is a daily driver that was reset only because the battery died. My average speed for both highway and city is 41.2 mph (75 highway and 35 city). I drive it alot on the weekends in town which has affected the average somewhat.
