99.9% chance of bad sensor! Common problem. To be sure, turn ignition key on but don't start engine. If you get a pressure reading with the engine off, you've got a bad one. Tech Tip has the details for replacement.
I had my TR224 installed last month, and with that I had the LS6 ported TSP oil pump put in. I think I gained 5-10 PSI during normal use. Today after the oil temp was around 130 degrees, I jumped on the car in 2nd , 3rd and into forth until I notice my oil pressure jump up to high 70's. I quickly shifted into 5th and 6th, and the pressure dropped back into the "nromal " range of 45 PSI. Its never been that high becuase. Could it be that the oil was still a little cold. It was in the mid 30's here in NY today. I have 38 % oil life left.
Mine was reading about 70 psi when i got on it one night, sort of scared me for a min then it dropped. Next day when i started it, the gauge was reading 129 psi .... still havent got around to fix it yet, but thats next on my list of things to do.

what do you think ?
The pump you bought is shimmed as well. The shim doesn't affect the normal oil pressure, all it does is bump up the blowoff pressure. Now when you get into the pressure that GM was too much, insteading of the pressure getting bled off, you go even higher.
