I went to McCormick's Exotic Car Auction in Palm Springs this weekend and saw with my own eyes, an immaculate '66 Corvette stingray w/33,000 miles on it (all numbers matched- chassis, engine, tranny, etc.) get sold for (are you sitting down?.............) $93,000!
I was at a Vette show this past sunner saw a 64 tan vert that had just bought from a private collection. New owner would not state what he paid for it but it only had 200mi on it. Money was not a problem for him. A 40 year old new Vette that still drives like a truck compared to our C5s.
If you're willing to let your low mileage C5 (preferably a 50th Anno or CE Vert) sit for 40 years, then, yes, it'll probably be worth big bucks. But why would you want to? There are a lot of better investments around.

Maybe C5's will go for that someday too!
..rickko..
Probably had the 425 hp 396. They're going for that.
No, C5's won't ever do that because we don't have any optional engines to make them unique. Z06's might....but they aren't verts and verts always do best as collector cars.
A mint C5 will be worth $230,000 in 50 years. I've got mine in the garage undercover and am waiting for that day.. Lets see I'll be about 90 years old.... Ok I changed my mine... Going for a spin..
