Friday, I was driving the Vette to work, I pulled out into traffic, and punched it to get up to speed. I was gaining on this pack of cars pretty quickly going about 72 in a 55, and noticed that one a was a cop almost right beside me, so I slowed down and got behind him. He was giving me a look when I turned off. Then today I'm driving my to work and I see the same cop hiding on the side of the road with his lights off near the same spot I saw him on Friday. Luckily my junker daily driver hadn't even hit 55mph yet (LOL). Sounds like he was waiting to nail the Vette. Not today Copper! Ok it wasn't that exciting of a story, but I'm going on 3 years with no tickets in the Vette, and I hope to keep that record going. I'd rather be lucky than good.
Tried the 55mph thing. It doesn't work for me. I would rather press my luck and pay a ticket every couple years. Maybe when I get a little older I will slow down. I thought maybe when I turned 30 this year that I would slow down. Oh well, maybe when I turn 40 I will slow down.
Pleazzzze! Give me a break. You think the officer has nothing better to do than to sit there all day and wait for you to drive past? Pretty pompus attitude I'd say. I’d also say you were very lucky, and should be thankful you weren't cited. No reason to bad mouth the officer when nothing at all happened to you. He’s just doing his job, which is what he gets paid to do.
I worked as a traffic offer for 12 years, and I wrote 125 to 150 citations per week. I didn’t have time to, as you put it, “hide” and wait for one particular Vette to come by. A speeder is a speeder, whether that person is in a red Ferrari or a green Mini Cooper. They all got cited, no prejudices or bias. That's what was paid to do. Our mission was to lower the number of fatal and serious injury trafic collisions by selective traffic enforcement.
I don't think he was lying in wait, just bad karma.
Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. Though, I got nailed. However, I've never seen an officer in that place (or anywhere near it) before that day, nor after. Just plain Bad Luck.

You guys can all flame me now, I don’t mind.
I'm missing the part where I bad mouthed the officer. I know they have a job to do, and I don't blame them for doing it. I'm just saying I was lucky, that is all. Have a nice day officer!

Umm...I think it was he was joking. I don't for one second think he actually believed that.
People on this forum take things way too literally and seriously sometimes
merlin probably a good point - but i dont think you need to come on that strong
i think its true, that he probably wasnt there 'waiting exclusively for the vette' but it may well have occurred to him, observing him, that other motorists could behave the same way in that spot - and thus find it an appropriate place to setup shop
(I didnt think he was being pompous at all) greatful that he got away and happier still that he saw him there the next day is all...

Don't count on it. When I truned 40, I just went faster.....cause I can
All you do-gooders really need to take a chill pill! Yes, a speeder is a speeder, no matter what vehicle you're in. mcroneC5 was just happy as hell that he didn't get a ticket this time around. I'm sure the vast majority of us here on the Forum love and respect the law. My brother-in-law is Chief of Police of one of the local cities around here. Do I support the local police? Yes. Would my brother-in-law cut me some slack for a speeding ticket? Absolutely not. Do I respect that attitude? Absolutely. With that said, I do agree that I would rather be lucky than good anyday!
