I recently had to replace a headlight bulb (low beam) and while at the parts store I bought a pair of Silver Star High-Beam. Has anyone ever mixed the two, i.e. leaving the low beam stock? Don't think there would be any issues with this, but beg your advice.
If I had only one to do I would change the lows to the Silver Stars and not the highs, but realistically for another $39.00 you can do both so why not?
Have you tried this on a Vette? I would be concerned about melting the housing or drawing too much power, but then again I did switch my fogs to 885s which is a higher wattage with no problem.
I have Silver Star Low's and Cool Blue High beams. The Silver Star were $38 a pair at Wal-Mart the Cool Blue (gives a similar look) were only $10 each so I figured since a rarely use the high beam anyway I would just get the SS for the low beams. Honestly I really cant tell the difference in color temp between the two. They look almost the same and the Cool Blue are almost $20 less.
