Feedback on E-Bay (C5 Related)
I am in the process of selling my A&A Supercharged '02 Roadster. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=1025495 I am considering using E-Bay. Besides all the Western Union-Nigerian scams, I'd like to get some feedback about E-Bay to sell a Corvette...especially a highly modified Corvette.
I've bought 2 vettes on eBay and sold 1. For all of them the seller had the money before the buyer(me in 2 cases) got the car.
One was in Michigan and I'm in S/E Pa. I sent a certified bank check for the amount, but only after checking with the local BBB (He was a dealer). It was delivered to my house on a car carrier. The other one I picked up in person. Overall I was happy with both.
I sold a '71 Cpe on eBay and when the buyer picked it up we exchanged cash for title.
Just remember "if it walks and quacks like a duck, its probally a duck!"
Make sure that the funds cannot be reversed before turning over the car!!!!
I sold a car on ebay and I used a third party, credit union, to handle the transfer of funds and title. The title was not released until the funds were secured in my account.
I sold my 03 coupe on ebay. I only recieved one bid but it met the minimum. Initially I sent a scanned copy of the title, then the buyer wired the money to my bank account. Then I signed the title and overnighted it to him. About 2 weeks later a truck showed up and hauled it away. Worked pretty good.
