Default Front and Rear Emblems

Hi guys. First time poster, long time reader.
I just bought a 99 FRC , and it has 50th anniversary badges on it. I'd like to go back to the stock emblems.

What is the difference between the front bumper emblem and the rear decklid emblem?

I've found relatively cheap ones on ebay, but they don't specify front or rear like I see in Vette catalogs.

Congrats on your new ride We need pix ASAP! May you have miles of smiles.

The differnence I know of is the fron emblem has mounting pins (go into two holes in the nose) ... the rear one is flat. Hope this helps.

You could just take out the 50th emblem inserts. They are not connected to the emblems. Unless the emblems are gray then I could see why you would want the black ones.

That is basically the difference. The front one may have a slight curvature to it also since it has to sit on the curved front fascia. Congrats on the car too.

The rear one is several dollars cheaper. They charge a lot for two little mounting pins.

Why would anybody put 50th emblems on a '99? Kudos to you for wanting to make it right. They are not too hard to remove and replace, assuming the previous guy didn't superglue them on. Use some strong fishing line and saw through the tape holding them on.
You can get replacement at most forum stores or dealerships. And, as the above guys said, front has pins, back do not. I think the pins are so the factory can glom them on the front without worrying that they slide off before the adhesive sets. If you get two without pins, I bet the 3M tape would hold the one on the front with no problems (it holds the BSMs on...).

thanks guys!
The badges are gray, and they don't look very good on the black car.
I have thought about going badgeless too, but it sounds like that would leave two little holes in the front of my car.
And yes, I'll try to get some pics up soon.
