I became a proud owner of a 98 Red Coupe last month, and am searching for the best service manual to buy.
I have found the 3-volume service manuals (non-preliminary), as well as the "2005 GM Service Manual Techline ESI" software. Apparently the techline software has all GM makes from 1998 to 2005, including Corvettes.
How much info is missing from the techline software that I'll be able to get from the 3-volume service manuals? In case it matters, I don't plan to be overhauling the LS1 or replacing major pieces. I just want a service manual that will guide me to minor projects (my wife says my mechanical skills are lacking). I also own a 2001 Suburban, so the software could be of use there too.
Thanks and I hope I didn't open a can of worms.

The software is great. I am not sure it's missing anything from the hardcopy. And it's much easier to find things with the software's search feature. But I am still glad that I have the hardcopy for the garage. My .02
I have both the hard copy manuals and the Techline S/W. The hard copy may be more cumbersome to use, but there is a greater level of detail in the hard copy vs the S/W. My opinion.
