thanks a bunch guys, that thread on the C5 is really informative, some mods remind me of when I had the z28, I did air box, cat back, and suspension mods to it....well I think for now I have to work on getting my dream car first
anyone local here? Mesa AZ area (we like the dry weather here for all cars)
There are a lot of good C5s out there & some can be had at very reasonable prices. But be sure to shop seriously even though, if you're like most of us, you are buying emotionally. Don't fall in love with it until you ar certain it is a clean vehicle, no flood adamge etc. Also, from what I have read & heard, the '97 is best left behind, too many first year gremlins.

Oh yeah, Welcome to forum!

There used to be a member locator in the tools drop down list. When I used it a while ago, I found 130 CF members within a 5 mile radius. I cannot find how I got there right now, as I was trying to get a link for you. You could have PM'd them directly.
I just sold my 99 BLK z28 Camaro convertable last month and find myself coming down with Corvette syndrome. I think the only cure is to get one (will be my first) My budget is telling me 1997-2000 C5 (2000 if im lucky)
Would like some input as to any quirks with these years , which is a good yr? I have seen some nice mooking 99's in local ads (Phoenix area) BTW, this is a nice site and I'l be back often...
I just did the same thing...sold my 02 Z28 with only 8,900 miles on it!
I fought the feeling of buying a C5 for 1 1/2 years and when the C6's came out and the C5 values were taking a nose dive, I couldn't take it anymore. I was actually a hair's breath away (whatever that is) of hopping on a plane to Atlanta and looking at a '99 with only 30K miles on it. Got on the internet one more time before booking my flight and found this 2000 C5 with 30K miles on it and only 40 miles from my house and this is what I bought last Monday....the only thing I know of that I caution you on is I heard the '99 steering columns lock up when the battery is disengaged...that's why I bought a 2000 instead.
