Default Battery question ... no not that question!!

Is there supposed to be a bracket or something that holds the battery down? I guess mine is bouncing around and for the second time in 6 months has loostened the battery cable connections to where the car wouldn't start. Is the a bungee cord or something that could be used? Thanks for the ideas.

There is a stock plastic piece that holds it down on the front side of the battery, on the bottom

I saw that. Did try to tighten it down on my Optima red. But wouldn't hold. Wasn't sure that was what it was for. Will give it another shot.

I believe the Optima uses an adaptor to take up the slack from the stock holder, different sizes of batteries.

I called the place that installed the Optima and they said ..."oops sorry, bring it in and we'll install the brackets"

So thanks for the help.

Optima calls it an adapter puck, and it forms around the center cell to hold the battery down. Replaces the factory puck. If you bought the battery new, they should have supplied you with one. If you bought the battery used, go to Optima's website and ask them to send you one.

I used my original battery hold down when I replaced with the "Red Top" - It has held for a month now

I have the Optima 75/35 battery in a 2001 coupe and the OEM puck holds it down with no problems.
