The only time I have had to tow my car was before it was lowered. Even then the front wheels were put on 2x4's. This was needed so the chain wouldn't ruin the front bumper (still came close). My car is lowered as many of yours are. Anyone have any problems getting towed? Any tricks/tips?
IMO, my car is not towable, unless the entire front end of the car is jacked up.
I have the ACI front chin spoiler and side ground effects. My front clearance is 3.5". I talked to the local towing service and they told me that it would take 5 - 6" to get under the front wheels, and if they picked it up from the rear, it would tear off the front spoiler.
The only way to get it on a flat bed is very long ramps. I have an enclosed trailer and I use the door (7' long) plus five foot ramps, and that is just to get the car about 15" off the ground!
Unfortunatley, this is why I have to keep the run-flats.
The reason I was asking was because a friend of mine had all four of his tires slashed last week. Now his car was an stock Acura. He had it flat-bedded. This happened downtown... he got to his car about 2am. If this were my car and ALL four tires got slashed... that would mean I would have no choice but to get it towed. Most towing companys around here do not have really long ramps. I guess the front bumper would have to get damaged.
I had mine towed a couple of months ago and I'm still pissed!! Make sure that even if they have the right tools (dollies, lifts etc...), that they don't secure your vehicle by running the chains thru your wheels. I've got scratches on all four wheels thru the clear coat on each. All of the scratches are small, but it ruined a previously 100%, no scratch/blemish wheels on a garage-kept vette!! Got to sue them for about $2000-2400 cause you can't just buff it out!!
All four tires slashed!!! Man that would pose a problem. You'd even have a hard time jacking the car up if that happened. I was thinking that you should have a couple of 2X4's to drive onto so that the tow truck could get under the front. But 4 flats I have no idea.
