Default Im so damn heated!!!

So last night after dinner im driving with a buddy on a 2 lane highway "US61 for u minnesota guys" and i doing about 70 and following some guy and all of sudden i look up and theres something in my lane and i hit it good and i hear it hitting the under side of my car so i get off and drive to a parking lot to look for damage and find none ,but today it was like 60 and i went to wash her and when i did i find out that the rocker on the drivers side felt the wrath of whatever i hit Theres an area about 1ft long and 3in wide where the paints off and the fiberglass was all messed up So now im ready to kill someone cause iv got a 1000 dollar Deductible and i hear its hard to repaint the magnetic red paint! Btw has anyone had there rocker repainted and how much do you guys think it might cost? The other thing i was thinking about was getting those rockers with the brake ducts in them like the ACI ones but i really dont know! later ditti

You shouldn't preach ... anything between a consenting adult and their C5 is acceptable.

Ditty22: Sorry man, I feel your pain. Don't know about the body kit, but paint matching will not be a problem for a first class shop. If we driv'em we break'em ... it's really that simple. Get it fixed and get right back in the saddle.

It's the 3-stage that scares most shops. Do a search in your area "Forums-Regional-your location" and see if anyone knows a good paint shop. Generic painters don't know about Mag Red and Mil Yellow.

And good luck!

I feel your pain. I would go ahead and get the new rocker with the
brake duct you would be killing two birds with one stone so to speak.

It should cost about $300 - 400 to fix. To get a new rocker is a lot of work since it is glued to the frame.

Presuming that the samage is more under the car versus being able to be seen by just standing upright and haveing it visible, you may be in luck.

I had a siimilar issue with my Mag Red. The damage was not visable unless I stooped down and looked for the scratched.

I had a good body shop in the DFW area redo the paint (blending it in).

Cost was #350. Not to bad IMO. I probably could have lived with it not repaired, by since I knew it was there.... well you can understand the need for fixing

Sorry to hear about the damage to your car. If it were me, I'd get a set of the molded in ducts. I think Evil-Twin has a set of these. They look very, very nice on the car.

Sorry to hear about the damage. Matching the MAG Red is not a problem if the right place does it.

The local Chevy dealer gouged both of my rockers while placing my car on their lift. Luckly I saw the damage when I picked up the car. I was very worried about the paint not matching. Turns out they did a fantastic job! I was very impressed with the fix and paint job. I had some minor rock chips on both pannels and they fixed those too. Both now look better than before they damaged them. I could not find any problem with the paint at all anywhere.

Good luck...

I paid $740 for a new rocker installed and painted in 2001.
