Default Mod truce - for now

I've learned the hard way not to start a mod without a definite plan.

I started this project in August - to put a computer in my car.

Since then, I've pretty much implemented everything in this mod twice... different size monitors, different PC configurations, etc...

Along the way, I wrote some related software for camera capture, etc...

I've finally decided to call a truce, as we're getting close to spring, and I want to drive the car for a change

So, I've finalized the dash area. I still need to make a cover for all the stuff on the shelf behind the seats and call it a day.

Here are a couple of pics from the dash. Someday I'll have to redo the radio trim. I had no idea what I was doing the first time. I think on a second try I can get it perfect.

That sounds like a really fun winter project. Is that a touch screen monitor? Very cool and the screen size is nice and large.

Yes. it's a lilliput 8" with touchscreen

My first screen was a lilliput 7" (16:9 aspect ratio), which was much smaller. It allowed the HVAC to stay in its stock position, but I couldn't have a DVD/CD player in the dash, and IMO it was too small.

So out went the 7", in with the 8" (4:3 ratio... much bigger).
