Gas pedal block?
I drove an 01 MN6 yesterday that had a black plastic or rubber block underneath the gas pedal. What is that for? I assume its to keep the pedal from going to the floor. I've never noticed it on other vettes.

Maybe its a self styled governor. My car certainly doesn't have one of these.

My uncle use to do that with his wife's car. She had a tendency towards tickets. And she never figured out how the car was only so fast for her but would fly when he was driving.

I didn't think it was supposed to be there.

My '04 has that from the factory.
I agree that I think it is to keep the assembly from hitting the floor.
You can see it here.

The things they don't tell you they change from year to year. Mine doesn't have that piece of plastic. I wonder why they would put that in.

My '02 has it, too. So, if I remove it, will I be able to do 110% WOT?! (This is C5 Gen, I'm trying to meet our quota of inane and questionable comments for the week, those C6 Gen guys are catching up!)

So the big question now is: If the block is removed, will the car go faster?

Perhaps it was supposed to be on the top of the pedal. For short people that is.

That's means if it's gome someone has performed the "Remove STOP, ACCEL PED" mod.

Captain obvious here. Has anyone removed this block under the gas pedal to see if it makes a difference in how the car runs. I am curious to know...
