I have the Toyo Proxies T1-S, been very pleased with them on the street and track. Very good in the rain. I know from experience that the Firestone Wide Ovals are also excellent.
Perform a search, it always works best and is a good place to start.
if i did not want some good input from the Z people who had them i would not have asked.
i would have asked my wife. she would given me some real good advice.
I have them and I like the ride and the handling. I never had the stock Z06 tires on my car as it is not a factory Z06. I do have the stock Z06 wheels and have the toyo proxies on them. I have a full z06 suspension and they ride great. No worries in the rain at all. All my buddies(6 of them) have the toyo's on them and they too think they are the most versatile tire for the Z06 right now. One warning about the toyo's is that they have a rounded edge giving them the illusion of not being as wide, but they are. If goodyear would just make the Eagle F1 GS-D3 in Z06 sizes it would be better than the toyo because they are more square. For now the toyo's get our votes.
You have made an excellent choice.Just got my car in Dec(02 ZO6) which had brand new F1's and I replaced them immediately as they are close to dangerous IMO on cold surfaces and in the wet.You probably can't beat the F1's at the track on a hot day - that's less than 1% of my use.For the money the T1S's are a steal.Enjoy!!

You still have the F1'S? IM with a price if you do.
being a older couple we have no idea what the tires are worth. would love to have you make a offer minus your shipping and lets see if we can make a deal.
they are only going to set in my basement and for sure i don't need them.
they wore smooth across and no side wall damage. we are in our 60's so no drag racing or motor crossing. just cruising for mom and me.
Rick, our friend and the owner of Airport Tire, said we jumped the gun buying them but they are for our son. along with a 3 year extended warranty on the car.
I found the F1's to be not so special on the track. After about 15mins they get - greasy? hard to explain. I know what your talking about driving the F1's in the cold. No traction above 4.5 - 5K rpm. I just put on Toyo RA-1's. So far they've been great. Same compound as Nitto RA-II's. Toyo makes Nitto. Traction is no longer an issue on the street. Can't wait to try them on the track.
I have an '03 Z that I just put T1-S's on, and am very satisfied. They traction is nearly identical to stock for dry conditions, and vastly superior to stock in the rain. Plus they look awesome.
I have had the Proxes for about 4 months (approx 4K miles) now and will echo everyone else sentiments thus far.
I did not notice any reduction in dry traction (I don't track mine) and the wet performance is astoundingly better than the Goodyear supercar tires.
The tires have a higher treadwear rating and deeper tread. I haven't noticed any wear yet.
They are also quieter that the Goodyears.
thanks for the advice. they are ordered and will be here wed.
must be a pretty good tire. i have never heard of a co. letting you drive them 500 miles and if you don't like them take them back.
at least it sounds good, but i've heard that song and dance before
thanks
dude, i had the toyo proxys...i thought they sucked!!!!! i had the opportunity to ride on them for 30 days and if i didnt like them, could return them for other new tires. they "floated" when on the highway going faster than 80mph, and i thought they sucked when cornering...seemed they couldnt hold the turn to well. the one thing they are good for is the rain. my advice, spend the extra $400 and get michelin pilot sports...best tires you can buy!!! period!!! sticky, smooth and fast!!!! so, id say try em for awhile and see how they preform. good luck!
