Any one ever replace that darn oil sensor with a real oil pressure gage.
Tired of sendors going bad and dealer soaking me ever 6 months. Talked to several shops that say they can't count the number of sendors they have replaced.
Good idea. I'm replacing my Oil pressure sensor this weekend for the first time, at 56,000 miles. Let us know how the install goes if you do the new gauges. I'm sure someone on this vast forum has done it already.
I have a question? Say you leave the oil pressure sensor broken, and it reads 129psi all the time(like mine). If you ever loose oil pressure for real, will the engine still shut down like it is supposed too. I've been told that most modern cars will shut down the engine if the oil pressure drops to 0 to avoid blowing up? Don't know if that is true, its just what I heard.

Haven't had any problems with my oil pressure sensor, but the guage sounds like a good idea. Hopefully someone has done this and can let us know what was involved.
