Guys i just ordered my corsa indy exhaust im also wanting to do the zo6 sway bars my question is ive heard that you should do the shocks and springs at the same time to keep the car matched i was hoping to just do the sways but now im wondering is that the right thing to do i have the fe1 soft ride stock suspension and i dont want to make a mistake need your imput
For what it's worth, I only did the Z06 sway bars and end links on my 01 and it's just fine. There is a definite difference for the better. Don't wait - my opinion. I have the Corsa Indy too - nice.

My car was an FE1 car also - I now have Hotchkis sways, Bilstein Sport shocks, urethane bushings, etc...
I didn't change the leaves, but with the upgraded sways and shocks the car handles very well.
You might consider at least changing shocks along with your sway bars to really feel any difference. Hey - the car is already up in the air, why not change out the shocks at the same time.
I had a base, went with Z06 sways and then later (about 3 weeks later) installed the springs.
The sways improved the handling, the springs (w/sways in place already) REALLY improved the handling - to the point that it felt like a different car - in a very good way. It sent me back to the phase of making up errands to run so I could drive it places
Like Ted said, bars only is fine. Addition of the springs is costly, but IMHO was worth every dollar (but I plan significant track time).
installed bars only ... day-umn! That's good enough .... for now
Did you use grease or install dry? I have the bars and waiting for the weather to warm up.
TIA
John
Use grease. And not silicon grease or petroleum based grease. I used silicon di-electric grease and the damn things started to squeak. I went back and greased them with lithium based grease. Problem solved.

...I installed them last weekend. The first time they went in dry and my car sounded like a wagon just pulling out of the driveway. Creaking and squeaking....... I pulled it right back in the garage and was pizzed. I pulled up some old Z06 sway bar threads here and read about lubing the bushings. So, after a trip to Auto Zone they came back off, got lubed up and re-installed. End result?....... .........
The car is now quiet again with a firmer feeling front end......
Good luck.........
I did the sway bars only and it is a nice change from stock. I am going to do the z06 shocks to just not at this time.
Doing the sway bar at the same time of the exhaust is a good idea because you need to lower the rear sway to remove and add the new cat back so why do it twice....
You can install the suspension parts in any order you want.
The first thing I did was get rid of the run flats. That made a big difference.
Next I swapped the shocks. It made a huge difference. With the stock shocks (base suspension), the vette would feel like it was floating and not connected to the road. The shocks cured this.
2 weeks later I put on sway bars. The ride got harsher, but the body roll was almost completely gone. It was a welcome trade off for me.
About 2 years later, I put on the Z06 springs. I wish I did this a lot earlier. It was a dramatic change over the base springs.
I installed Z06 bars and Bilsteins at the same time. The only concern I would have with not upgrading your shocks would be the additional stiffness provided by the bars may show the deficiencies in the stock shocks to a greater degree. I think to get the full benefit of the bars, a shock upgrade should be included sooner or later. Also run the Corsa Indy's..Great exhaust.

I did just the Hotchkiss bars and felt a very big improvement.
Later I added the Z06 springs and Bilsteins and lowered and felt another very big improvement!!!
