Default Cam only A4 question

I was wondering what kind of results people were getting with just a cam on an otherwise stock A4. I am looking for just the cam without many other modes like headers and such. If you have dyno numbers that would be great or track times from those without high stall converters and higher gears.

Thanks

You would be making a BIG MISTAKE if you install any decent cam with the stock converter and 2.73s or 3.15 gears. It also would be a bad idea to install a cam without the proper bolt on's to go along with it. To be honest I doubt if you will find anyone running a cam without the other mods(headers, T/C, gears etc.) that would help you get the most out of it.

Well I was trying to decide if I should go with some 3.73s to replace my 3.15s or if I should get a cam. It looks like I should get 3.73s. I would not have money to get a cam and headers.

Same predicament.......

Why is it such a bad idea to do just a cam?
I'm thinking, cam, intake and maybe down the road LT headers but down the road.

Same situation as well. More of the fact that its my wife's car and not mine is one reason I havent considered headers. Just for the fact of more noise and IMHO if any ground clearnace is lost putting headers in then its not good. For some reason the town we live in loves making big ramps from parking lots to roads and speed bumps galore. I have headers on my 95 TA and hate the loss of ground clearance I have with my y pipe. But I know thats comparing apples to oranges.

But yeah I would love to kind of do intake/exhuast/and maybe the z06 treatment. But I do hear a lot that without headers/gears/or TC its not worth it.
