Default RedLine Goods Install ?

For those of you who installed the automatic trans boot----what glue/adhesive did you use to bond the leather to the plastic frame???
Thanks in advance.

I used automotive GOOP found at any auto parts store. The easist way I found to glue the plastic piece to the shift boot was to glue a portion of the leather to the piece and then use a clothes pin to hold it together. Then move to the next section of leather, glue that, and put a clothes pin on it. When you have glued the entire piece to the shift boot, it will have about a dozen clothes pins on it. Just leave it like that for 3-4 hours to allow for drying time. After that remove the clothes pins and you are ready to install. I found this method much easier than trying to let the glue dry by holding the leather to the plastic piece using only your hands. Sorry I dont have any pics.

Iceman

Great info--just what I was looking for. BTW--"GOOP" is the actual name of the product, right? Thanks a million...

I don't recall having to do this with my stuff from Vette Essentials. Is this something new/different??

I used a rubber cement type of glue. It's for leather. This way, it's not soooo permanent.
