After reading some of the threads like this I decided to tackle the job but which product to use?
I bought the Duri-color Caliper Paint kit for about $16 from Kragen AND a half-pint of Rustoleum 'Sunrise Red' from Home Depot (1 pt. $3.49) along with an Artist Brush kit from HD ($3.97).
I bought both because I wasn't sure which color I was going to like.
I started with the Duri-Color RED and found it to have more purple in it. When done it seemed more like it matched the color of the rear marker lens.
Then on the other side of the car I tried the Rustoleum. Now that's RED, in my opinion. It more matches the color red in the Corvette logo flags and is closer to my personal liking. Its definitely a brighter red than the Duri-Color red.
Good thing I bought the extra artist brushes kit from HD because after I finished painting the 1st caliper using the Duri-Color brush that came in its kit I pulled all the brush bristles out of the brush cleaning it! Cheap.
I'm going to do one of the front calipers today. I will probably try both techniques to remove the excess color on the CORVETTE letters (ie. laquer thinner on a rag, and fine sand paper on a block).
Not being experienced with painting I found the directions in the DuriiColor kit to be best regarding applying 2nd and 3rd coats. That is, to wait about 15 to 20 minutes between coats.
Unfortunately I didn't do that with my 1st caliper so the application doesn't look quite as smooth as my 2nd. But I'm going to sand it down and apply a coat of Rustoleum over the DuriColor to get that brighter red look anyway . That should fix it.
If you use the Rustoleum you are going to have to wait longer than 20 minutes for it to dry. I used the rustoleum and applied it with a 1 inch foam brush. I let it dry overnight and applied 4 coats. I did the brackets in rustoleum black and did the letters on the fronts in black also. They turned out great and still look good 2 years later. Good luck.

try the tirerack caliper painting kit they are $38 and I saw pics on someones car whos on here im sure hell post them... color matches torch red perfectly and looks amazing.. i think i am goin to do that.
Pep Boys (don't recall the product name) has a caliper paint that works great...color red is "Torch Red", very bright Went on great. I tried VHT in the past, looked darker and got dirty looking after awhile, thus leading to the re-paint using the Pep Boys paint.

I thought I'd wait till I get the fronts done. But maybe I should take the two different colors now. Don't know how much of a difference will be seen considering quality of camera and lighting etc. but I could give it a try.
Here are pics of each. There are too many variables to be sure you are seeing how they look; camera, compression, your PC monitor, etc. but maybe you can tell a difference.
1st one is Duri-Color 'Red'
2nd is Rustoleum 'Sunrise Red'
