Anyone with the service manual on their computer's feeling generous and wants to share with the rest of us, I'm willing to host it...
Not a real good idea; GM would be after you in a few months for copyright infringement. GM has done away with the pressing of the six disc CD service manual; last one pressed in November 2004. Dealers all have access via GM Dealerworld, a secure GM sight that hosts their service information.
They still offer print versions, and a DVD version; however, the DVD version must be in the computer to run.
So, the Vette Doctor will eventually run out unless they are duplicating the CDs, at which time, I would not want to be them.
I agree with the above and besides it's about 4 to 8 gigs of hard drive space. So unless you have a friend that's willing to share I don't think hosting is practical.
I signed up with that site and it doesn't give me the option to download the owners manual, just purchase a hardcopy. Whats the deal?
It should...I was able to do it for my 97 and 99. You need to go to your 'Glove Box' and you should have the option to view or download the pdf. You might need to view it then do a save as.

No luck! I have the option to download Acrobat Reader but no link to the owners manual pdf? WTF?
I just tried to log into the site and went to the 'Glove Box'. For some reason the option for viewing or downloading is not working for me also. Maybe after loading the viewer the option will be available? Might be worth a try.
The Crossed Flags link takes you to the MyGM link that isn't allowing you to view the .pdf. But, it will let you buy it for $25, or $60 with the video.

Is the Vette Doctor the only way to get a hold of the electronic version? Has anyone bought the CD set and would like to share?
When I got my C5 I got a paper manual from Helms and purchased the CD's on E-Bay. I recomend using the paper manual but the CD is useful for printing one or two pages to take and markup. I think I paid about 5-10 bucks pluss a few bucks shipping. It covers all of GM's models up to the model year so if you have other GM cars you get a lot for your money.
