Why can't you leave them installed like the BMW one's? Will they fall out while driving?

I'm pretty dumb when it comes to these jacking pucks.

Do they mount and stay on the car all the time or do you only install them each time you jack the car? I assume they stay on the car since there are 4 of them. How do they mount? If they stay on the car, can they come off while driving?

Thanks

Actually they are designed to be removed after each use. The corvette is low enough, so I don't think you want anything lower hanging from your car.

I would not suggest leaving them in, besides, it takes about 1.5 seconds to put one in.

Do you really need jacking pucks? I jack mine up without them. My car is low enough as it is. The pucks just further reduce the working height.

BMW parts dept part#51-71-1-960-752

Forget the BMW parts, went to the dealer two weeks ago because I thought they were inexpensive, but something like $17.95 each plus sales tax. Also they are plastic which might be OK.

I ordered elites which are about $10 each.

Check with your local BMW dealer. I got a set for less that $20.00 about a year ago. That was for 4. Either I got a real bargain or someone misquoted the price to you, or BMW got wise to Corvette owners.

Unless the parts person made a mistake he quoted about $17 each. He actually ask me what car it was for, said he had some else a few weeks before with a corvette so knew what I wanted.

I think they come standard with the BMW jack so not many BMW owners are looking for them. I did find them online earlier listed at $6 each but the online picture looked like it might not twist and lock in place.

Surfing around corvetteforum community, found out about the pucks, just ordered a pack of 4 just now. Within a couple minutes, got a response from Jeff. Very good service. Can't wait to see the items..

The BMW pucks do not twist in, they snap in. They are fine but I have to admit that even though I have them I just got a set of the Elite pucks and they are much better. Real good quality. Fast shipping. Good price for what you get.

What are the physical size of the Elite pucks?

These pucks sure do look nice but I just have a typical set of jack stands that have a U shaped contact patch. What keeps these pucks from sliding off my stands? I think the Hockey Pucks will grip better.
