Default Doing only one more performance mod. Which header to choose?

I have a 99 FRC with a Blackwing, LS6 intake and thats all performance wise. I have dyno runs showing max of 323/329. Since I am not doing anything else or the wife kills me what header system will suit my application? Thinking LG catless, but the Kook catless is alot cheaper. I have read posts by some that say the LG's really start showing the better results with the more mods done. So I Iam not going to do anything for at leaset two years are the LG's worth the added cost. I do drag race alot, not on the street at the track and have done a little road course action. 95% of the time I am the slow lane enjoying driving a Corvette.

I highly reccommend the LG Longtubes!
Awesome headers with proven results!

LG's here.

i dont know why people continue to make these threads!!

do a little research, or be lazy like me and spend the money on the best proven headers.

your going to get a ton of answers. just do a search, there is MORE than enough info on which headers!!

You may want to consider the Dynatech headers also. I've heard a lot of good things about them.

If it's going to be your last mod (yea, right )...then I'd say go with one that gives you the best gains for your $$$. I seriously considered the Dynatech system but chose the LGM LTs w/cats due to their ability to produce slightly more torque at lower RPMs on a mildy modified car.

You won't be disappointed either way.

Slighty More torque? HUH

Is 500 $ extra worth SLIGHTY MORE TORQUE you are producing??

LGs are nothing but a name brand,

Nothing against Lou, but he needs to support his racing needs, so thats how he make his money (corvette tax)

I remember Lgs used to be HAND MADE, but now they are mass produced by BORLA

Dynotechs are the EXACT copy of Lgs (Well exept TRU 3 INCH RACE QUALITY COLLECTOR per Lou) same primary tube lenght and produce same or near Dyno # as LGs on a car with most bolt ons.

So think twice b4 you blow extra 500$ on a set of headers

Default I know i'm gonna get blasted

but...I bought my car with SLP headers already on it. I've been told that they're a bitch to install, but a very good true tuned length quality stainless steel header,SLP does all the factory stuff for the camero and firehawk for GM. good luck

If I had a nickle for every time I said that, I could do one more mod.

Personally, I like it when someone starts a NEW thread on an OLD topic. Alot of times there is NEW information and insight that wasn't/isn't in an OLD thread!!! Just my .02 worth.

BTW, It's quite a recommendation to say that you were too lazy to research, so you just bought the most expensive product to take the "guesswork" out of it!!!

KOOKS here and very satisfied.

Reasonably priced, well made, good product support, stainless steel, and great performance, great track record and well earned reputation among people who know their stuff when it comes to headers. Can't ask for more than that.

Whichever you choose, please think long and hard before you go catless. There are issues with regard to going catless which most people are not familiar with.

First off, I didn't spend $500 more to obtain them thanks to the group purchase deal Lou had going on a couple of months ago. Two, I've seen the difference on the dyno, however I guess 10ftlb/tq could indeed be considered "slight". I have no proof to fight this debate and all that matters is that I'm happy with my purchase. Who cares what everyone else thinks, including you. The world is full of opinions, and I'm free to give mine, so believe what you want.

To the original poster, you can't go wrong with any of the LT headers out there: Kooks, Dynatechs, LGs, QTP, TPIS, etc. The truth is, ANY LT header will give you a nice increase in power; albeit some more than others. Do some searching on this site and you'll find more opinions on headers than you can read in one sitting.
