Default Got towed tonight

...first time I've ever been towed in my life for illegally parking.
Story goes like this,

I first went to a birthday party. Then I left and was going to meet some friends at one of the downtown clubs. I get there kind of late and the entire club district there is not a single place to park. I used to frequent this particular club a few years ago so I parked in a parking lot where I usually parked, except there was no place to park, so I made my own space next to a wall, making sure I didn't box anybody in. I even thought about it too, I cut the wheels to make sure the car was harder to tow.

I go in the club, then I find out the people I was going to meet decided not to go because they couldnt find a parking spot. And then I did meet up with some other people but midway thru the night I lost them. I decide to leave, I go outside and to my dismay my car is not there. That has got to be one of the worst feelings.

I knew exactly where it was, it was either stolen or it was towed. Back in the summertime another friend also got towed, so I knew exactly where it was. I called the tow company just to confirm. Yup, they had it, I had a feeling of both relief and disbelief at the same time.

The most screwed up part, is they accept cash only. So I walked about 10 blocks to see if my friend who works at a restaurant was still there, No luck, he had left. while I was at it withdrew $ from a branch of my bank, put the $ in my sock and some more $ in my pocket incase I got robbed. I hailed a taxi, and this guy could barely speak english. From the last escapade, I knew exactly where to go, so I had to direct him to the impound yard. I get my car, $247 later not including the $20 taxi ride. I checked and double checked to make sure there was no damage on the car. Im still wondering how they managed to tow the thing. I would have taken a parking ticket any day over getting towed. I thought so hard about doing a huge smokey burnout on the way out of the impound garage but decided not to since they practically had all information on me and my car. I should have just stayed in tonight.

So much for the vararam....

Sounds like since you were pretty sure you would get towed, maybe you should have made the run to the ATM first.

That would have saved you the walk and cab ride hassle.

Next time, that's what I would do.

Park illegally, where you have a good chance of getting towed, maybe even leave a note for the towing company to just come inside the club. That way, you can pay them the $247 and save youself the hassle of running all over the place, and them the hassle of the actual tow. It will reduce the chance of damaging the car.

Win-win all around.
