Default Valentine 1 prices

Hi. Just wondering where people are finding the cheapest prices for the Valentine 1 detector.

Thanks,

They can only be purchased from Valentine, unless you come across a used one. Valentine sometimes has returned units that they will sell for about $50 off retail.

The V1 is the cheapest directly from Valentine 1 unless you can find a used one.

Thanks for the info, guys.

Steve (thevettenet CA), your avatar caught my attention. Manhattan is like my second home and I really like it. I've visited up there almost every year since I was a little kid and was just there in April. Sorry you weren't there then and we could've hooked up, but I'll be up there again soon, I'm sure.

$400 from valentine directly - free upgrades for a year and reduced price upgrades for life.

I just had my POP upgraded to v2 for free by Valentine.

after watching ebay for a few weeks i got mine from v1 direct

the ebay / resell price nearly always seems to always come in round 340 360 that sort of thing...thats after two years old even where a 55$ upgr is needed to add pop

in general terms the 2nd hand sale price seems to equal 400 - upgrade cost, +any increased demand by the auction process

ie a v1 1.7 needs a 189$ upgrade to 1.8 with pop2 -ive seen them go for $200-240 sometimes...

a v1.8 that needs the 55$ upgrade to pop2 - ive seen them sell for 320-340..
more if they have the 39$ conceled remote...

seems like a good vote of confidence... so i just bot new (couldnt be bothered to wait out yet another 7 day auction when it seemed pretty clear they werent diminishing much in value if at all.....)

Yes, they hold their price. I bought the full monty - remote, mounts, extra everything. Worth every penny, IMHO - saved my hide many many times in the 6 months of ownership.

Hey, Jeff - we just moved back here from San Diego in January, and it's good to be home again. Give us a call next time you're in town!

Yes, it is free and this is what you will get:

Our POP Upgrade* for this series of V1 will produce the following benefits:

* Fewer false alarms from other detectors compared to your POP1 V1.

* A new warning: POP2 includes an improved warning feature: when the signal-identification system determines that a current warning is, in fact, a spurious signal transmitted by another detector, it notifies you with a “dee-dah-doo” sound and terminates the warning. At the same time, the letter “J” will flash briefly in the Bogey Counter.

* One-year limited warranty starting at upgrade date, same as new units.

-- Upgrade to POP2: As soon as we receive your old unit (in operable condition with no tampering of the serial number) we’ll install revised firmware, then return it to you in the shortest possible time.

PRICE: No cost to you; free shipping

Yes, it would go off with false positives in heavily wooded areas that Officer Friendly could NOT be hiding - but it scared the he11 out of me!!

The v2 upgrade seems to have fixed that - no false positives so far.

The upgrade process was seemless - go onto the Valentine website and enter your serial number. It spits out your details because they have it on record when you bought it from them (name, address etc.) - you print that and put one piece inside the box and the other piece on the outside of the box and Fedex/UPS it to them. Remember to insure it - it's worth $400 after all.

It took exactly 7 days from the time I overnighted it to Valentine to the time I got it back.

Regarding whether you should upgrade or not - see Radarking's response. My 2 cents - upgrade.

EG
