Is there any problem withthe blinkers? I have heard LEDs mess up the speed of the blinkers.

Looks good btw

Thanks for all the great responsesl

wickedvette- They are red.

Flyskate- Go to www.autolumination.com or I'll sell you my set for $200

WhiteC5Vette- Believe me ... they are VERY red. The pix don't do justice.

Stock Man - Check out the above link Ed.

Bman - Did not do white. I forget the exact terminology, but you have to use red with red lenses because of the beam length in colored lights. White LED's through a red filter are dimmer, so you use matching colors. Chris has a reminder on his website as well. Very considerate if you ask me.

Villain C5 - I was shopping around their website and they do have different wire harnesses to solve that issue. Since I have the Euro set up, my blinkers aren't affected. EDIT: My blinkers are a separate set up bulbs from the brake lights. I'm still using the halogen bulbs for now. But I'll keep that in mind if I decide to do the amber bulbs next month. Thanks for the reminder Villain

If you have any questions, contact Chris through his website and he can answer other questions you may have. He's been really good about getting responding to me.

No. I'm not getting anything ($$$) for this. Some of you guys know me by now ... just sharing the wealth with my modding family ... especially when it comes to LED's

I think the key to these working here is that he has the Euro tails.

If he had the OEM rear lights he would have blinker issues, from what I've read on this before.

If anyone jumps in on this and installs in an OEM rear, lets hear the results!!

Thanks for the reply MyVetteDream. Maybe I'll have to check them out and see what those harnesses go for

Electronic flasher or inline resistors will allow the LEDs to flash, if used on a turn signal circuit.

VinnyG- I used the #211, 44mm long, 9 LED bulb. If you have halogen bulbs in your mirror, you can go this route. If you have LED's break out the solder iron.

CUlookin - The second picture is pretty accuarate, but the diff. from stock is definitely more noticeable in person.

WhiteC5Vette I checked out Chris' site and he's got 3 different types from $5 to $9 Not bad IMO.

Dave Q.

EDIT: I got a few questions about the map lights. The bulb I used is the same one I used for the hood light, minus the DIY wire connector

I am VERY interested in doing these LED taillights. I have always wanted the look of those new Cadillacs or BMW type vehicles. Looks cool when they flash to because how instant LED's go on and off.
I e-mailed autoillumination and he said that yes they will blink too fast if you dont put in what he sells called the load equalizer. Im just confused on which one I need to order the 6ohm or 3ohm. And also if I need one for each light assembly (im assuming I do).

Also, I wonder which would be better the white LED or red LED for this application. I know the regular bulb has a clear lens.

I'm interested to learn more about the load equalizer. I was reading about it, so if you wanna get some info, we can combine our findings. Besides, what did Chris say? I'm sure he knows more.

As for what color, you have to use the same color LED for the lens, especially when it comes to red.

In the meantime, I'll do some more reading ....

You will most likely need one "load equalizer" per side...left and right. What that part does is put resistance in the line just like a factory bulb does. The flasher requires resistance to make it flash. If you notice when you burn out a bulb your lights will often flash faster (some go slower) but that is because of the change in resitance in the circuit. The LED's do not put enough resitance in to make the flasher work. That is pretty much the only draw back to the LED light. Honesly I do not think it will be much longer till LED's are used in the headlights. Thanks for pointing out the new bulbs..going to order a set now.

Those look pretty hot. I sent an email to ask if they would work with my sequential harness that I've already got.

I like the brightness. Looks like a new mod is on the way as I have the Euro lamps as well! I just ordered a set of red lights.

Ok so if only one might be possible for each side where would the load equalizer be mounted? reason I ask is because obviously there is an individual wire harness going to each taillamp assembly.

Hey Eat Rice-

You seem to know a bit about this stuff ...
If I have my Euros, which wire would I mount the L.E. to? I'm thinking it would be somewhere at the plug, but if I splice into the main power and ground, won't it affect my brake lights as well? Hmmmm?
I guess I'll be the guinea pig and try in a couple of weeks.
