LED tails ... Dial Up Warning

wickedvette- They are red.
Flyskate- Go to www.autolumination.com or I'll sell you my set for $200

WhiteC5Vette- Believe me ... they are VERY red. The pix don't do justice.
Stock Man - Check out the above link Ed.
Bman - Did not do white. I forget the exact terminology, but you have to use red with red lenses because of the beam length in colored lights. White LED's through a red filter are dimmer, so you use matching colors. Chris has a reminder on his website as well. Very considerate if you ask me.
Villain C5 - I was shopping around their website and they do have different wire harnesses to solve that issue. Since I have the Euro set up, my blinkers aren't affected. EDIT: My blinkers are a separate set up bulbs from the brake lights. I'm still using the halogen bulbs for now. But I'll keep that in mind if I decide to do the amber bulbs next month. Thanks for the reminder Villain
If you have any questions, contact Chris through his website and he can answer other questions you may have. He's been really good about getting responding to me.
No. I'm not getting anything ($$$) for this. Some of you guys know me by now ... just sharing the wealth with my modding family ... especially when it comes to LED's

If he had the OEM rear lights he would have blinker issues, from what I've read on this before.
If anyone jumps in on this and installs in an OEM rear, lets hear the results!!

CUlookin - The second picture is pretty accuarate, but the diff. from stock is definitely more noticeable in person.

I checked out Chris' site and he's got 3 different types from $5 to $9 Not bad IMO.Dave Q.

EDIT: I got a few questions about the map lights. The bulb I used is the same one I used for the hood light, minus the DIY wire connector

I e-mailed autoillumination and he said that yes they will blink too fast if you dont put in what he sells called the load equalizer. Im just confused on which one I need to order the 6ohm or 3ohm. And also if I need one for each light assembly (im assuming I do).
Also, I wonder which would be better the white LED or red LED for this application. I know the regular bulb has a clear lens.

As for what color, you have to use the same color LED for the lens, especially when it comes to red.
In the meantime, I'll do some more reading ....

You seem to know a bit about this stuff ...
If I have my Euros, which wire would I mount the L.E. to? I'm thinking it would be somewhere at the plug, but if I splice into the main power and ground, won't it affect my brake lights as well? Hmmmm?
I guess I'll be the guinea pig and try in a couple of weeks.
