I'm getting ready to install the chrome rotot hats, noticed there is some type of retainer washer on one of the bolt studs. Does this retainer need to be removed and placed back on the outside of the hat after it's installed? Anyother tricks to putting these on??
Thanks!
Retainers were installed to keep the rotors in place during assembly. The wheel and lug nuts hold the rotor in place. You can discard the retainers.

Hats arrived yesterday, they are the plan for Saturday, one was bent so have to wait for Eckler to replace one of the front caps, I'll put the other 3 on though. I'll post a pic when I finish. MORE CHROME

They are called "Tinnerman Nuts" and hold the rotor on during assembly at the Factory.

Got 3 of the 4 put on last yesterday, one was damaged but Eckler's sent out a replacement right, so they said anyway. Pretty simple install, just getting those rear caliper assembly retaining bolts to break loose... Had to remove the top bolt and loosen the bottom one to tilt the caliper back and install the rear hats. I'll get some pics up later today...MORE CHROME....
ive had mine on for several months and tons of people notice them. they look at the slotted/drilled rotors then ask "did they come wth those chrome centers??" anyway, i like em alot.
Haven't had it on the road yet, don't see how though, they're bolted right up against the rotor by the wheel. There's no space for any rattle or anything.
