I've been trying to get my hands on a set of schematic diagrams for the Delco radio so I could figure this out myself. There are two ways to do it.
  1. put a switch in series with the antenna control line
  2. go inside the radio and find the signal that indicates the CD is playing and use that signal to disable the antenna signal.
Maybe someone has already dug into this and can tell us the answer.

There is a antenna bypass harness you can purchase from Mid America for $19.99, installs in less than 30 minutes with no modification. PT#601-252!

I assume that this would be on a FRC.

I would say that it's for a convertable.
FRC and coupe have fixed antennas.

by the way, I bought a $3:00 switch from radio shack and wired it into the antenna power wires in the harness located in the passenger side footwell.
works GREAT!

The antenna goes up when it gets power from the factory deck , putting in one of the described switches removes power so the antenna goes down and the radio can remain on . Personally I would install a better (aftermarket) unit which only raises the antenna when you choose the AM/FM feature . Plus side is better sound also .

Here's a link to the Tech Tips section that explains how to wire in a switch to control your antenna. It's in the very last part of instructions.

The Tech Tip is good information. I saved a little time by using a non lighted switch which requires one less wire connection. I mounted my switch in the arm rest next to the power plug and it looks factory and is out of the way. I hated always taking off the antenna to put the cover on so this is a welcome mod. Good Luck

Thanks everyone. I'll look for the "pink" wire at the passenger side

I would love to get my hands on a schematic for the Delco radio and add a little circuit to raise the antenna only when the AM/FM radio is selected. But so far I have not found an aftermarket product that does this nor have I had any success in getting a schematic. Delco wouldn't respond and a Corvette Radio shop (response below) told me they are not available. So if any of you have any leads on this let me know. I'll share my findings. Thanks.
John

Schematics to these radios are not available.
Like wise the output wiring is all bose equipped and is therefore not available.

Humm, I'm sure that I saw the output wiring schematic in my 04 Service manual. The only wire that seemed useful was the A8 dark green one that is the radio power signal wire. But, it needs to be switched if you want to control the antenna more than radio on/off.

yeah...that's why I need the schematics for the radio internals. Thanks.
