87 vs 91 don't have different burn rates, nor does one contain more btu than the other. The only difference is the resistance to burn via compression and the presence of heat.
It's a common misconception by people marginally in the know that these fuels burn at different rates because they have different timing requirements for MBT...it's not the case. Burn rates for pump gasolines are federally regulated, and are equal among all octanes.
