I've done several sets on my cars and others and I won't say it's an easy job, but no need for a professional. Just take your time and it should turn out very nice.
Done mine twice because the first time I got cheap and tried to reuse the old foam, bad choice. First time 2 hours per seat being real careful; second time 1 1/4 hours each including changing foam. Don't get cheap change the foam and it rides like new.
Here's a pic just as I finished my seat covers. (second time around)
Take Your time taking them apart. Document where everything came from(not too hard)
Then, just reassemble. Hardest part is pulling hooks thru new foam. Only special tool is hog ring pliers. Good luck have fun. Took me about 16 hours to do both seats.

Check out the Vette Essentials web site - they have instructions for installing the covers. After looking at it, you can decide if you want to give it a try. I had mine done by an upholstery shop and it cost me $100 for the install.
I just put new foam and seat heaters in mine. It was not hard at all. The hardest part by far was getting someone to help stretch the leather to hook the hog rings in. I used needle nose pliers for the hog rings. Just take your time and it will come out. BTW, changing the foam is a must as mentioned. Vette Essentials has the foam for good prices as well as new covers. Great to deal with aswell. If you have a problem and they are open at the time they are more than willing to offer advise. Hope this helps.
