[Z06] T82 Twilight Option - Software error?
I just got the T82 option enabled in my Z06. I noticed that it is not possible to set a "lights on delay". That was no surprise, as I had read about that here on the forum before. However, to my BIG surprise, the 2004 Owner's Manual says otherwise:
appears on the display, then use the RESET button to
page through the following selections:
• TWILIGHT – ON
• TWILIGHT – OFF
If you choose TWILIGHT – ON, press the OPTIONS
button again to display DELAY TIME 1 2 in the DIC.
Use the OPTIONS button to switch between delay time
1 and 2. You can increase the delay time by pressing
button 1 (1 FUEL) or decrease the time by pressing
button 2 (2 GAGES). Each bar is equal to 12 seconds.
Notice the statement sayin "Use the OPTIONS button to switch between delay time 1 and 2". It sounds like the designer originally intended us to be able to set a "lights on delay (1)" and a "lights off delay (2)". However, it seems like due to a programming and/or design error, this was never correctly implemented. Who knows, maybe the feature is already there, all implemented, but inaccessible. (The TRIP button should switch between 1/2, not the OPTIONS button since it takes us to the next option).
Having a "lights on" delay would make this feature much more valuable. However, with the lights coming on instantly, without delay, I have to agree with all people here in the forum that find it annoying...
Does anyone have more info about the Twilight option? Is the manual wrong, or is it simply a software bug that never got fixed?
Peter
