(I know, another newbie question). Thanks for your patience - I've learned a lot from the board already.
I understand your concerns, but really - the car came from the factory with CAGS, and I'd like to think that they wouldn't force you to do something that is detrimental. Especially since if it was - GM would have to repair the car under warranty. The LS1/LS6 is one tough mother!
OK, I'm SO frustrated! I get this small goofy light that flashes for a nano-second and I'm supposed to shift from 1st to 4th (w/o stalling the car) or I will mess up my transmission??!?! And there appears to be no rhyme or reason to WHEN this light will appear. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. And, no bells or beeps to warn me, in case I miss the sudden flash. Now, how, exactly, am I supposed to manage this??? I'm guessing that I must be missing something? PLEASE HELP!!!
I think you all missed it folks!! He doesn't say that he is forced to shift to 4th gear......he is concerned with what the light is telling him to do. I think he already has a CAGS eliminator.
The owners manual and video are great sources of information about the Corvette. Something I have always done is learn about the car (from the Internet), I intend on purchasing ahead of time. Then I am not surprised and know more about the car than the salesperson/seller.

It is a pain in the *** definately. Do what I did, use a resister (I forgot the value) and it is less then $1. Mines been like this for over 2 years and 35K miles. The previous owner did not modify the car whatsoever, didnt even put in a CAGS delete
Put in 4.10s, the little light will go away. Or you can just buy the eliminator I'm sure everyone has already talked about. Takes about 5 secs. to put in once you have the back of the car jacked up.
