I drove my C5 from Chicago to Phoenix and averaged 29.7mpg... most of that at 75mph or more. Let's see that Toyota do that - maybe downhill being towed by a rocket!

I picked up my new, 2002 6 speed Coupe a week ago yesterday in Houston and drove it to Ohio. 1560 miles. The first day I drove in to New Orleans and had dinner on Bourbon Street. I kept the speed under 75 and averaged around 34 mpg. On Monday I drove to Bowling Green, Ky. I held it on 80 and a little over almost the whole way and averaged 28 mpg. I floored it a few times in Memphis and Nashville. I wouldn't say I was running hard but I did get into it a few times. At 75 you are only doing 1500 RPM in 6th. It was pretty flat the first half of the trip and in some hills the second half. The seats were great. I never got saddle sores.
