Where Does The Gasket Go?
I've been known to come up with some off the wall questions. This might be one of them.
I recently bought a K&N air filter for my 02. The instructions indicate I need to use the supplied gasket when intalling the air filter.
Does the gasket go on the base (where the opening is), on the lid (the part you remove to install the filter), or the trash (the round file).
Thanks for your help in getting me through another dilemma.

I put it on the base...but it was over a year ago.
