Extended Warranty
Got stiffed today on an extended warranty I purchased at the local Chevy dealer in November. It was not the GMPP. I am canceling the policy and will be looking for another one that will pay for repairs without reneging or giving the dealer (and me) any grief. Any suggestions? Do I even need an extended warranty? I have a 2001 coupe with 20,000 miles on it.

Dennis will give you all the good information on GMPP. Your 2001 is out of warranty now so Dennis won't be able to sell you one but you should be able to buy it through the Chevy dealer you bought your Vette through.

If you Vette was originally placed in service over 36 months ago, and I'm sure it was, you cannot purchase an extended factory [GMPP] warranty. Your next best alternative for an aftermarket warranty is WARRANTY DIRECT. You have already had a poor experience with an aftermarket provider so don't add to it. There are many posts on the Forum regarding the integrity of Warranty Direct. All aftermarket providers ARE NOT equal.
I have no connection to them, and do not have a warranty from them, when I was in service management they were always a stand up company.
