Fixed my squeeky brakes
Took my car to the dealership wednesday for my squeeky brakes. They checked everything out and said the rotors and pads were fine and "they all squeek". Nothing they could do about it. So, I decided to try some stuff I read about here on the forum. I bought some CRC Disc Brake Quiet in a spray can and a couple of packets of permatix disc brake quiet goop. I took off the pads and cleaned the back side real good with brake cleaner and a toothbrush. Then sprayed the Disc Brake Quiet on the back of all 4 front pads. You have to let it set up for at least 10 minutes. Gave me time to clean and wax the insides of the front wheels. Then after the Brake Quiet was ready, I put some of the Disc Brake Quiet on. It's a blue goop that you spread on. Says not to get on skin, but i used my finger to spread it on. I then reinstalled the pads. I had put a little too much of the blue goop stuff on, but luckily it dries to a black color and you can't see it. Next time I will put alot less. Anyway, drove around yesterday evening and today and NO SQUEEKS OR SQUEALING from the brakes. Don't know how long this will last but for now it's nice and quiet!

this noise can come from the metal backing plate contacting the metal caliper piston...this metal to metal can be buffered with any backing pad buffer. Brake noise can also come from the front of the pad contacting the rotor... the pad can become work hard.. the semi metallic in that type of pad can become harder than the rotors material and actually etch the rotor... removal of the pad, and putting a piece of 36 grit sand paper on a 2 X4 and rubbing the pad back and forth applying pressure downward to the sand paper can clean the surface of the pad, and remove any build up or hard spots found on the surface.
The real fix was the contamination from the skin melted from your finger in the blu-goo.
But, seriously... isn't it sorry when we can find answers to our problems here, and the "factory trained" dealer technicians (I'll sure not even call them mechanics) cannot find their... well, you know.
All the best, and heck, "Brakes. We don't need no stinkin' brakes!" That's why they make parachutes.
