i bought one when it 1st came out for my trans am and painted it candy apple red and it came out real nice. i just hit it with some flex additive primer and painted it and then cleared the crap out of it!
i then took a silver paint marker and painted the FAST logo and the LSX part on it.
looked super nice till i put all my direct port crap on it and covered it up.
Here's a pic of my FAST Intake along with my fuel rail covers I had airbrushed recently. We installed it on the motor and weren't happy with the color match so it's being painted again. House of Kolor urathane paint was used to airbrush all of my engine pieces.

Anyway you can tell us how you prepped the intake for painting?

First thing I did after removing it from motor was soak it in hot soapy water overnight. (dawn dishwashing liquid)
Then I started out with 120 grit and sanded it down finishing with 400 grit paper. I used 3 different size orbital sanders which made the job a lot easier. The small, triangle head, detail sander I used has several different size attachments that made it easy to get in all the tiny recess areas of the intake.
I ended up with a nice smooth surface instead of the rough pebbled texture it comes with when you buy it, and also without all the company logo advertising on it now.
